Street View Not Loading? A Troubleshooting Checklist

A black or blank panorama is a loading symptom, not a diagnosis. Work through these checks in order and change one thing at a time so you can tell what helped.

1. Check what still works

Can you see the game controls and the guess map? If the entire page is missing, start by checking your connection and reopening the site. If only the panorama is blank, note whether it happens at one location or on every round.

In a timed multiplayer game, refreshing may not pause the round. Record the problem first if you can, and avoid repeated reloads that make it harder to see what is happening.

2. Retry outside the active round

Once the round is over, reload the page and try a new practice round. If a different location loads, the original panorama may be unavailable or may have failed temporarily. One failed location is not evidence that all imagery in that country is missing.

3. Compare another browser

Try an up-to-date browser or a clean browser profile. If it works there, review extensions and site-specific settings in your usual browser. Temporarily pause a suspected content blocker for this site only, retry, then restore the setting if it makes no difference.

If several sites fail to load maps on the same network, compare another connection you trust. This can help isolate a network restriction from an issue with the game.

4. Recognize when the site needs a fix

If every panorama fails across browsers while the rest of the game works, the site operator may need to investigate the map integration or service availability. Browser changes cannot repair a server configuration problem. Avoid clearing all browser data as a first step; it can sign you out without solving the cause.

5. Record a useful bug report

• The page and game mode where the problem happened.
• The approximate time, including your time zone.
• Your browser version and device type.
• Whether one location or every location failed.
• A screenshot of the visible error, excluding account details or private room codes.
• Which checks above changed the result.

On a phone, also mention whether you switched apps or changed networks during the round. These observations help distinguish an imagery problem from an interrupted game connection.

Never include a password, sign-in code or browser cookie. If the error displays a request reference, include that reference instead.
